Together, We Can Drive Change for All Patients

Our Focus

Healthcare 3.0 – Bringing Healthcare Back to the Patient

For over a century, healthcare has shifted away from patient control to corporate ownership. Healthcare 3.0 represents the future—bringing control back to patients through technology, partnerships, and advocacy. Our goal is to restore local connections between patients, physicians, and employers by asking one simple question:

“Is this good for the patient?

Healthcare 1.0

(Pre-1912)

Patients had full accountability for their health, managing their care with limited interaction from medical professionals. Doctors most often traveled to patients' homes to provide care at their request.

Healthcare 2.0

(1912-2024)

The rise of insurance and pharmaceutical companies shifted healthcare from a patient-centered model to a corporate-driven one, focused on shareholder value and profits.

Healthcare 3.0

(2025 and Beyond)

Patients First Foundation is pioneering a future where patients regain control, using technology to ensure better outcomes, and taking responsibility back from corporate stakeholders.

Advancing Patient-Centered Healthcare

Despite spending more on healthcare than any other high-income country, Americans face poorer health outcomes, shorter lifespans, and unaffordable care. This stark reality underscores the urgent need for systemic change.

At Patients First Foundation, we are committed to driving this transformation by focusing on these pillars:

Patient Literacy

Empowering patients with clear, accessible knowledge to better navigate the healthcare system, understand medical information, and make informed decisions about their care.

Advocacy

Empowering patients with clear, accessible knowledge to better navigate the healthcare system, understand medical information, and make informed decisions about their care.

Empowerment

Inspiring patients to take active roles in their healthcare decisions, advocate for their needs, and build confidence in managing their health and well-being.

Together, these pillars guide our efforts to create a healthcare system that puts patients first and builds a healthier, more equitable future.

Our Impact

Real Solutions for Real Patients

The Patients First Foundation is committed to providing patients with tools and technology to navigate the healthcare system effectively and advocate for themselves. Our impact will be felt in three critical areas:

1
Patient-Controlled Healthcare Records

Patients will have full access to their medical records, eliminating the need to request access and enabling seamless sharing with any provider. This aligns with TEFCA and IAS initiatives and will remove the redundant paperwork that burdens patients today.

2
AI-Assisted
Advocacy

We are developing an AI-powered patient assistant to support patients at the point of care, helping them understand their diagnoses, confirm tests, and evaluate treatment plans. This will enable patients to advocate for themselves confidently, ensuring informed decision-making.

3
Evaluating Through a Patients Lens

Every aspect of healthcare will be evaluated through a simple lens: Does it benefit the patient? Using this binary approach, we will hold insurance carriers, pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, and other stakeholders accountable for patient outcomes.

Why Now?

The healthcare system has failed to serve patients for decades, and it is time for change. We are at a turning point where patients must reclaim their healthcare. By empowering every individual, the Patients First Foundation will drive systemic change across the U.S. healthcare landscape.

The Sobering Truth About U.S. Healthcare

In mid-2024, the United States—the wealthiest nation on Earth—is ranked 38th globally in the Health Care Index, with a score of 68.0, according to Numbeo.

Take a moment to scroll down the chart. Let the full weight of this ranking sink in as you observe the list of countries outperforming the U.S. in healthcare. Many will surprise you. These are nations often perceived as having fewer resources or less global influence, yet their healthcare systems are rated as more effective, equitable, and accessible than ours.

What does this mean for us here in the U.S.?

Despite spending more on healthcare per capita than nearly any other country, we are falling short in delivering quality, affordable care for our citizens.

This ranking isn’t just a number—it’s a stark reminder that our system is broken. It reflects gaps in accessibility, cost efficiency, and outcomes. It tells a story of families burdened by medical debt, of communities with limited access to care, and of a system that prioritizes profits over people.

It's time to ask the hard questions: If so many nations can do better with less, why can’t we? And more importantly, what are we going to do about it?

It’s time for change.

Now that you've scrolled down, reflect on this sobering ranking for the U.S. Then let’s work together to demand a system that finally puts health and care at the forefront for all U.S. patients and taxpayers.
